Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Responsible for developing, evaluating and deploying fleet maintenance programs and projects in support of company goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Collaborate with internal functions and outside vendors to conduct internal Top Wrench competition and participation in TMC SuperTech competition
2. Serve as the subject matter expert regarding various fleet maintenance programs and projects, including implementation of any new programs and/or projects
3. Provide technical expertise in the development and preparation of technicians participating in various programs
4. Evaluate opportunities within Fleet Maintenance and review, research, update and deploy policies, procedures, processes and technology to ensure fleet maintenance provides safe, reliable, compliant equipment to operations
5. Develop, support and oversee rollout (on-site, if required) of fleet maintenance programs, as well as operations communications related to equipment and maintenance
6. Benchmark with other FedEx operating companies and the industry at large on fleet maintenance “best practices”
7. Provide reports and updates to leadership regarding status of efforts and other relevant information
8. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
9. Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience plus five (5) years’ fleet maintenance, education, program management or other relevant LTL experience
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to review data, define issues and identify/present solutions
• Good time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Experience and ability to use Microsoft Office software including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to maintain confidential information
• Able to complete required training and education
• Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Must be able to travel
• Hours may vary due to operational need
• May be exposed to extreme hot and cold weather changes, dust and fumes in a service center/fleet maintenance shop environment
